Jackhammer (India) Pvt. Ltd. makes Glue Laminated Timber — the beams, columns, trusses and curved members that structures are built from. We press them at our own plant rather than importing them, and we test them before they leave.
Most structural timber reaching an Indian site has been bought abroad and shipped in. Ours is graded, jointed, bonded and pressed in Siliguri, which changes what we can offer: members made to your drawings rather than to a catalogue, a section checked before it ships, and someone to call who actually made it.
We work two ways — supplying members to a structural engineer's specification, or taking a project from design through manufacture to an erected structure.
How a project runsSiliguri sits at the corridor into the North-East, Sikkim and Bhutan, where the hill sites that suit timber are. It is also a working distance from the ports our timber arrives through.
Machine strength grading of every lamella before it enters a member.
Finger jointing, adhesive application and bonding, and the tests we check them against.
Timber imported from sustainably managed, certified forests.
Block shear and four-point bending tested on site, with results published.

Heavy erection on constrained urban sites, with crane-assisted assembly.
Site carpentry and frame assembly, including rooftop and hillside work.
Connection hardware is made with specialist manufacturers in Europe and supplied alongside the members it fixes.
Our completed work sits in Sikkim — a glazed barrel vault and a public shelter, both carried up to forested hill sites and assembled dry. Larger projects are in design and under discussion across India and in Bhutan.
We will come back with feasibility and a price.
